Where your support goes
Every Thursday morning, The Loop pulls together what's on across Calgary, checks the dates, venues and ticket links, and sends the best of it to your inbox. The calendar updates every day. Behind that are servers, event data, email delivery, and the time it takes to get the details right.
Supporters cover those costs so the guide stays free for everyone, without paywalls or pop-ups. Supporting doesn't buy a say in what we feature: our picks follow how we choose events, whoever's paying.
Become a supporter
Prices in Canadian dollars. Memberships renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time. Support is a contribution to an independent local publication, not a charitable donation, so there's no tax receipt. It doesn't include advertising or a featured placement.
Supporter memberships open soon. In the meantime, the best thing you can do is get the newsletter and pass it on.
Sponsors and partners
Local businesses can sponsor an issue, a guide or their own event. Every sponsored spot is clearly labelled and sits apart from our picks, and there's only ever one sponsor per issue.
More ways to help (all free)
- Pass it on. Forward the Thursday email to your group chat, or send friends to thecalgaryloop.ca. Word of mouth is how a local newsletter grows.
- Tell us what we missed. Spot a wrong time, a cancelled show or a great event that isn't listed? Email thecalgaryloop@gmail.com. Sharp-eyed readers make the guide better.
- Run a venue or organize events? Events sold through Ticketmaster or Showpass show up automatically. For anything else, including races, markets and community events, email us the details and a link and we'll add it. Listing is always free.
